further proof that i am a dork

I was talking to Shruti yesterday about how I hadn't gotten as much done as I wanted to, and I had a paper due next week that I really needed to start writing. That's where the proof of my dorkiness comes in:

Me: I just really need to buckle down. It's always hardest for me to begin writing - that first step is the activation energy of the writing reaction, if you will, and it's a big bump to get over for me.
Shruti: Lol, that was so dorky.
Me: Hee, I know. It just came to me in a moment of metaphorical epiphany.

She called me dorky... and she's a chemical engineer!
